Jesus Christ Opposed to Secrecy
I am the Light of the world.   John 8:12

Christ’s command for the conduct of the Christian Life is against organized secrecy.

Let your light so shine before men. that they may see your good works, and I glorify your Father which is in heaven.    Matthew 5:16

The spirit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is against organized secrecy.

Go ye therefore and teach all nations . . . Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.   Matthew 28 :19-20

The example of Jesus Christ is against organized secrecy.

The high priest then asked Jesus of His disciples and His doctrine. Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.    John 18 :19-20

The command of Jesus Christ to His disciples is against organized secrecy.-

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light; and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. Matthew 10:27

The Providence of Jesus Christ is against the success of organized secrecy.

For nothing is secret that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid that shall not be known and come abroad.    Luke 8:17.

Organized secrecy carries with it the presumption of something doing or to be done that is un-Christian and needs to be covered.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.   John 3:20.

Organized secrecy can scarcely be considered the path of safety. –

He that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. John 12 :35.

Whom should a Christian help ? Who is my neighbor?

In answer to this question Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan who helped a man of a different race, religion and country. They did not belong to the same society. They had only a common humanity, but it was enough.   Luke 10 :30-37.

Salvation is found in following Jesus Christ.

I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.          John 14:6.

Conclusion of the Whole Matter

  1. Jesus Christ said nothing in secret.
  2. Christians should walk in the Light, not in Darkness.
  3. Christians should make the truth known, not hide it.
  4. Christians should help all in need, not a favored few.
  5. Christians should unite in self-sacrifice, not in selfishness.
  6. Jesus calls men out of worldly company into fellowship with himself.
